Traditional Georgia Values
Clay is proud to be a Republican and he is not afraid to stand up for our Republican values and Conservative principles. Clay will stand up to protect the rights of parents to make decisions for their families, the right to life for the innocent unborn, and the right to dignity for the elderly and infirmed.
No Tax Increases
Clay believes hard-working families should keep more of the money they earn, instead of having it confiscated to fund bloated government programs. You can count on Clay to fight to eliminate wasteful spending. Also, Clay will never support a gas tax increase.
Real Solutions to Fix Traffic
Clay knows our traffic nightmare lowers our quality of life and robs us of hundreds of hours away from our families. Clay believes we must improve our local road system to unclog the bottlenecks we are faced with each day and find real, innovative solutions to fix the traffic mess.
Improving Education
Clay believes we must set high standards while at the same time ensure control over curriculum rests with the local school system. We must do a better job of recruiting and keeping the best teachers. Finally, we must authorize educators to remove disruptive students, and then protect them from junk lawsuits resulting from classroom discipline.
Pro Life
Clay has been certified Pro-Life by Georgia Right to Life Since 2002.
Greenspace and Sprawl -- Clay wants to stop blight and empty big boxes with HB12, which would give businesses a tax incentive to occupy empty strip mall spaces instead of building new ones.
Taxes
Clay authored HR 5, which encourages Congress to pass Congressman John Linder’s Fair Tax bill.
Private Property Rights
Clay wholeheartedly supports ending Eminent Domain abuse.
Illegal Immigration
Clay supports HB 911, which would curb Illegal Immigration by limiting state benefits for those here illegally.
Child Predators
Clay co-sponsored and helped pass increased penalties for those who abuse and bring harm to children.
Protecting Religious Expression
Clay authored and passed the Holiday Free Speech Act, HB 950, also known as the Merry Christmas Act. The Act prohibits governments and school boards from limiting speech and expressions that  celebrate any public or legal holiday. |
